Marcy J. Dunlap
Marcy J. Dunlap, J.D., is a senior associate attorney with Ferenczy Benefits Law Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where she works on all types of qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and related employee benefits issues. Marcy analyzes operational and ERISA compliance plan issues, advises clients with respect to corrective procedures and prepares corrective filings for submission to the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor, and assists various plan service providers with reporting and disclosure requirements in their client service agreements.
Prior to joining Ferenczy Benefits Law Center, Marcy worked for national insurance brokers providing advice and compliance support related to ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and other federal and state laws affecting employee benefit plans. Previously, for over a decade, Marcy served as a Senior Investigator and later the Senior Advisor for Criminal Investigations for the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration. As Senior Advisor for Criminal Investigations, Marcy provided oversight, guidance, and training to investigators, auditors, and supervisors concerning criminal investigations related to employee benefit plans. In addition, she partnered with the Department of Justice on prosecutions involving employee benefit plans. As Senior Investigator, she investigated complex civil and criminal ERISA matters involving large health, retirement, Taft-Hartley, and employee stock ownership plans, professional employer organizations, multiple employer welfare arrangements, large financial institutions, and service providers.
